An Introduction to IPMX: Why IPMX is needed by the ProAV industry

“Great another AV over IP protocol, just what we needed!” Ironically, the fact that there are so many incompatible protocols being used in the ProAV industry is precisely why IPMX was created. In this presentation we will see how IPMX helps solve this problem. We will discover how IPMX is based on widely used Open Standards such as SMPTE ST 2110 and AES67 but adds important features that are required by the ProAV industry.

Speaker: Jean Lapierre // Senior Director Advanced Technologies, Matrox (Booth G17)
Jean Lapierre is the Senior Director, Advanced Technologies for Matrox Video. A graduate of Concordia University in the field of Computer Engineering, Jean joined Matrox in 1989. He has been involved in the development of state-of-the-art video broadcast hardware and software at Matrox since then. In recent years, Jean has focused on developing Matrox’s technology for SMPTE ST 2022, ST 2110, and AMWA NMOS. He participated in the development of the JT-NM Tested program and is currently Co-Chair of the VSF IPMX Activity Group.
